There we go!!

Every now and then one gets inspired to blog. So inspired one is ready to blog about anything at all. Well, that hasn't for a long time happened to me. Which explains for a serious lack of entries and sending some friends off to ponder my existence on the planet. To which I wish to express gratitude and assure that everything is fine. Thanks! What accounts for a lack of entries doesn't in fact equate a lack of events/activities to blog about. There has really been quite a number of happenings and stuff that I could write. Let's see, a few number of stuff on hand, where shall we start??

Get yourselves excited!

We're gonna start with a blast!

Excited yet?

Let's go!

FOCUS CHURCH CAMP 2006 AT SHOALHAVEN! (14th Apr - 17th Apr)

Lets take a look around the place first before meeting the people yea? Well, Shoalhaven's this place beside the river and they decided one day that they should, hey, construct a conference centre there. Well, can't complain much. The place's reaaaallllly coooool! Not something I see often, vast patches of greens and a river runs along, and we saw cows grazing up and down the whole time. The cows are funny, they know how to line up. When they line up, the whitest cow's always in front, and then it goes on, with the ones with slight spots, then more spots and more spots, and we get to the cows which are totally black. And they're somewhat a tad strange, not by their poo poo habits (all over the place), but that actually harrass each other!? Like, we were playing volleyball beside their grazing place and lo and behold! This brown cow actually tried to jump, hop, climb, crawl, whatever means, onto another cow! I wonder if they can file for harrassment against each others. And whenever you try to get close, they just run. Like, we are actually smaller than them, but when they see us they run. Haha. Cows are strange creatures. Enough of cows, now to the accomodation. It was a 4 person per cabin room - 2 double beds. I thought the arrangement was good, because, as I will introduce you to them later, we get to bunk in with our bible study group friends and got to know each other better (well, though most of the time we were so sleepy zzzz....). Yep, and there's the weather. Very very nice weather. sunshine and wind, what more? It was as though there was air con everywhere, I don't know how else to describe. Haha. But it was just really nice. Really very nice. Then there was the night sky. Woohoo! Cool weather, riverside, greens, sky, stars, moon. =)

Now then, the theme of this year's camp is "Spirit Driven Life". We had:
1) Talks (once everyday at 11am)
2) Bible study (once everyday)
3) Group time (time to spend with bible study group)
4) Elective (where we could choose to go to any topics we found interesting..they had stuff like: Demons and Ghosts- Unholy Spirits; Spiritual dryness and overcoming it; Your body is a temple etc etc)
5) Free time
6) Games! ( Which i found were quite lame.. haha, we had like games to compare who had the biggest blah blah blah, widest blah blah blah, longest blah blah blah...yawns blah blah blah...Haha... And then other games were like, the battle of the sexes, the title suggests the game for itself... And then some eating competitions, to which we ended halfway 'cos people were so enthusiastic some were getting themsevles sick and choked while eating -_-')

Ok, now, food - most of them were really not bad, we had like fish 'n chips, salads, beef and chicken with rice etc, and the other standard stuff for breakfast, tea time, and fruits hehehe...And ooo yea! They had this super cool machine that has a list of menus, you just go and press what drink you want, and it will make it for you! Like, chocolate, coffee, latte, etc etc. I guess coffee machines are like that? Well, something about coffee... I really can't see what is it with coffee. I mean, many people I know have to drink a cuppa or 2 everyday, I tried that. But it just didn't work, I felt sick after a cup. Haha. So I gave up... I mean, if one is really so sleepy, why not just go to sleep right? Why must drink coffee? But I digress. I mean, I only like Starbucks because they have FRAPPUCINNO!!! yea! The ice blended! Smmooootthhhiiieeee chocolately ice blended... Ooooooo.. Ok ok, on with the pictures!! Don't talk so much..

Here we go!

This is the conference hall where we go for talks and games. Well, the talks were mainly on how in the Trinity, the Holy Spirit seems to be the obscure one. But really, after hearing the talk, I have to agree that the Holy Spirit seems to be the 'spotlight man', the one shining the light and pointing us closer to the Father and Son in the Trinity. Hmmm..it's hard for me to approach the topic here, perhaps I'll do that in another post. =)

The outside of our room!

The view when we open the door.

A river runs through it. A view so vast, I feel my heart opening up already. Hehe...

Now, lemme introduce you to my bible study group (from left):
(back row)Paul, Yuk Yee, Jack, Robin, Jiarming, Mr Cool
(front row)Gloria, Dorcas, Jiahui, Fat (don't ask), Soomi, Lin Min
(absent)Slyvia and Mahawi (they didn't go for the church camp)
A little bit more...
Paul (?24/Singaporean) - He is actually leaving us, going back to Singapore, erm, like, on the 2nd May '06. He's a really nice chap I think, wishing you all da best when you return to Singapore man! We'll keep you in prayers. =)
Yuk Yee(?32) - Our bible study leader. Married with 2 kids, 3rd one on the way, in 2 weeks time. Hehe... Really cute kids...
Jack(21/Hongkey/Psychology) - That's his usual make up. Haha.
Robin (21/Singaporean) - Same as me, also in year one med, was from HCJC too, though I didn't know him back then.
Jiarming (22/Singaorean/Social science/Psychology)- Cuts hair once every 3 to 4 months. Handsome right.. haha..
Mr Cool - Year 1 med/Singaporean. Extreme coolness radiating.
Gloria and Lin Min(year 2 med/Singaporean/21) - so proud of them, after the church camp got test they still come. I mean, most people stayed at home to study for their tests but they came!!
Dorcas (?23/Singaporean) - Was from TJC, plays drums and cooks!
Jiahui (21/Singaporean) - studying nursing in USyd, very very very very jumpy and spontaneous!!!!!
Fat (Hahahaha...) - She's from Brisbane, really funny person, in a good sense. Studying to prepare for missionary work.
Soomi (?19/Korean/Thai) - Doing foundations now, always bakes cookies for us. Awwww

Group fun shot

How sleepy Mr Cool's roommates and Mr Cool are...

This is the Yuk Kee's 2nd boy - Graham. So cute right..

The eating competition!! See how they stuff themselves with the Easter eggs... I should've volunteered for that one man.. Haha. But the other rounds saw chilli, 1.5litre gassy lemon, cucumber, cabbage etc... -_- At first I heard they had ice cream too, but alas, it was cancelled. Man, I'd really have gone for that..Can still remember how I used to finish tubs of ice cream while watching tv.. They're just so nice..And they give you all the calcium you need, 2500% RDI.

This is one of the scene during the battle of the sexes game. Basically boys wore blue and girls red. And then we had competitions like who can come up with the most creative 'bible advertisements' (like, advertise for people to eat manna, buy Moses' stick.. etc etc read: lame). But I thought one of our ad was really good, the concept basically something like Lost, and people hunt for food, and woah, they found manna. Oh, speaking of Lost makes me think of Final Destination 3! I wanna watch that show!! Haha.. Been on a scary movies trailer hunt recently, check this site out: www.haveyoucheckedthechildren.com (Although the movie's they say it's bad, I thought the site was cool).

We'll be back next year!!!

Well then, I hope you enjoyed the pictures! Next up, a trip to the zoo! Look forward! Hehe. Till then, take care man. I gotta go sleep now, church tomorrow. Take care everybady!
And a special shout out to bro JUN! HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!

Of the Harbour Bridge and Opera House

Ok... I know it's been a long time since I updated. There's really been lots of things happening down under and just so much to blog about - I think I'll sit down one day soon (during the Easter break) and type a longer post. Sorry to disappoint fans out there! Haha. Anyway, speakin gof the Easter break! Woohoo! I'm so looking forward to that, to allow me to settle stuff and get down to real studying. Right not I'm still floating between settling down to study, settling down to life and holiday mood. So Easter would be a real good break and have the resolutions up and everything. Look forward to that! Oh! I'm going to this place called Shaolhaven for 4 days during the break! It's a church camp and would be a great time to know fellow brothers and sisters better. What more, Shoalhave, - exoctic name, exoctic place beside the river during the cooling autumn time. Yea, it's Autumn now! The weather's turning cooler and the 5 sweaters and jackets I've got are starting to make their appearances. Hehe. Really lloking forward to that camp! Oh, did you know that time has changed? Literally, because we're now only 2 hours ahread of Singapore (instead of the 3) because... Daylight saving! Haha. Which is quite cool. There was this day when we could spend an extra hour in bed. Hehe. Oh, I made my first trip down to the Opera House and Harbour Bridge! Finally!! It was quite cool! I went ot collect some stuff near the city and decided to pop on down there to check it out. I mean, there hasn't been any real touristy sightseeing I've done since I've been here so... It's actually smaller than I anticipated it to be but hey! I have been there, done that! We walked around and tsang Yew even got 'volunteered' to help out in a street performance. There was this guy who was doing some tricks and stuff with fire and needle beds, NKF style. But I think he keeps the money for himself, alas install Golden taps not. I'm spurting rubbish. Anyway well, looking forward to the times when family and friends can come on down and we can tour Sydney together! =)
In the meantime, still cheerful and blessed is your day. Take care! Enjoy some pics I took and yep, that's dinner we cooked! Man! It's just getting better! Golden meals as Tsang Yew says. Never mind his brainy comments. Haha.
