Cousins

Well I reckon since I'd be stuck at home for a few days, I might catch up on some blogging. Also, if anyone wants to come my house, you're really welcome! Though my face would be a big turn off... haha. I'd start off with these few pictures I took on the 1st day of the New Year with my cousins. Yep, the people whom you always hear me 'playing catching' with.

This 'chosen 8' started off when I was, I think, in early Sec School? My extended family goes like this. My mum's side of the family are all in Taiwan, so these cousins are all from my Dad's side. My grandfather has 4 sons and 3 daughters. The eldest being the 1st, then the 2nd brother; next comes my 2 'gu gus', they're twins so if you're an outsider, it's really hard to tell who's who; but to us, it's really quite simple. Next comes my dad who ranks as the 3rd son, then my 'small uncle', with my 'xiao gu' as the youngest sister. My 1st uncle has 2 daughters, both of whom are married; and a son, who's in his late twenties I guess (I'm really not very sure as we don't really converse). My 2nd uncle has one son (who's 26). So there you go, I'm so called ranked 5th in my generation. But, hehe, I'm the eldest when it comes to our clique of 8.

If you can see from the picture below, there's only one girl (LOL!) in our clique, which is already normal, but getting boring, to me since I'm always surrounded by guys (-_-') My brother's (Jia Jun) the one wearing a red shirt with black outline collar. My dad's younger brother, who's my 'small uncle' aka xiao shu, has 3 sons - the eldest (Tzer Yuen) the one wearing white/grey, followed by Ah Qi (the one in yellow), then Ah Wang (red 'Basketball' shirt). My 'da gu' has 1 son - Ah Yang, who's my godbrother and is studying in Chinese High (He's the other one in red billabong T-shirt). My 'er gu' has, yup, a daughter and a son - the girl(hehe) Ah Zhi, in pink, and Ah Bee, in orange.

In terms of rank, I am, of course, the eldest, having been through PSLE, the O's and the A's. Next up's Tzer Yuen, who's in VJ J2 now, and has since slightly forgotten us after he found a girlfriend. He's got lots of ideas for games though. Haha.. and he's a really funny guy. I just hope his girlfriend don't snatch him totally away from us! My godbrother comes next, who's really smart and has gotten himself a scholarship after topping this and that in school. So proud of him!! Jia you oh! Next up, Huizhi! She's always being bullied by people (Yea we all know who... hahaha) but she's really nice! I think she's real intelligent too, and she bothers to tag!! So touched. Yea so there you go, the outer 4. That's right, within us we've spilt up into upper 4 and lower 4. Sometimes to maintain fair gameplay, we'd balance this up.

So the next 4 would come Ah Po and Ah Qi, who both just entered Sec school and having quite a smooth transition. Ah Po is easily one of my favourite cousins (ok actually I love all of them). When we used to play Power Rangers (yep that's right - Power Rangers' the first game we ever played), all of us would be the 'rangers' while he's the only blessed one who'd be brave enough to volunteer to be the 'monster'. Same applies for Charmed and catching. His attitude's real cool too! Ah qi - the athlete amongst us (though I'm still the fastest runner when it comes to catching, muahahaha). When it comes to disease (another form of catching), (secret) he's mostly my first target cos he can even beat Tzer Yuen hands down easily. Why? Cos Ah Qi really runs while Tzer Yuen laughs and runs at the same time!! So the smallest 2 would be my brother followed by Ah Wang, the 2 cutest in the group (except for times when my brother throws his temper ;) Well, easily said my bro's the one I love the most (duh) and Ah Wang, so very innocent and lovely. I can always remember him telling me he'll miss me when I go to Australia (Awww) and when he made me a card before I enlisted (Awww). I'm tearing already.

There you have it, the clique that I most often refer to. Always a part of my life as I grew up, will be part of my life as I continue to do so. I can almost list every game we've ever played - Power Rangers, Charmed, Harry Potter, Buan Luck, Sah Gee, Catching (my personal favourite), Strategy game, Disease, Freeze and Melt, Hide & Seek, Little Fighter, Colour Catching... So much fun in them, something I'll always miss. I was thinking, will I ever get the chance again to play catching?

I was once told by a auntie whom I don't really like, "Ah Bing ah, so big already, still act as small kid. You know you all are always so noisy, when will you grow up?" To me, it really doesn't matter that people think I'm childish or what, I simply enjoy the time we've spent with each other over these years, and even as I fly to Australia, I wish my brother and all of my cousins all the best. Especially in their studies (and relationships lol - they really grow!!). If I really do only return in 6 years time, how time fly and how they grow! Sincerely, love out and peace with, God bless you guys.
